The Big Kenmore Clean-up
Mounds of litter, dried dead weeds, dirt and grime; this is what is often revealed as winter snows melt away in Kenmore. To help us begin the warm seasons in tip-top shape is the annual Big Kenmore Clean-Up. Individuals, families, Scout Troops, church groups, sports teams, young, old and in between are invited to show your care for the Village on an April Saturday (usually the last Saturday of April) to weed, sweep, and tidy all the public spaces around the business corridors in Kenmore. We usually fill about fifty large garbage bags, yet through the years we have been able to greatly reduce the number of weeds, trash, decaying leaves significantly. We even know the preferred brand of cigarettes of those walking the sidewalks of the Village for the thousands of butt ends we’ve collected over the years.
The Big Kenmore Clean Up is an opportunity to show how much we care for our community but this chance to help doesn't stop at the end of that day. If you happen to see trash on the ground as you walk, bike ride, etc. please stop for a moment and throw it away and if you are a cigarette smoker, please use a proper receptacle for your unwanted cigarette ends. Together we can help make sure that Kenmore is a clean and pleasant place for all to share.
