Kenmore Children's Concert Series

Every Tuesday from July 14 - August 4, 2026  |  6:15 pm

About the Event

Picture
The Franco's Pizza Children's Concert Series is one of Western New York's most beloved summer traditions -a free, family-friendly music event held on the Kenmore Junior Senior High School lawn every Tuesday evening in July and August.

In 2026, the series runs every Tuesday at 6:15 pm, from July 14 through August 4. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.

Each year, hundreds of families attend each concert, and thousands pass through the series as a whole. Attendees come from across the Ken-Ton area and well beyond - regular concertgoers travel from Lockport, Hamburg, and even Southern Ontario to be part of Tuesday evenings on the lawn.

A Musical Education, In Disguise
Our goal with the Concert Series is to give families a great summer evening - and, quietly, to introduce children (and their families) to music they might otherwise never hear. Each season's lineup is carefully curated to include a variety of eras, cultures, and genres. Past seasons have brought Strauss waltzes, Caribbean beats, German oompah, jazz standards, Celtic music, classical wind ensemble, military brass, and the Great American Songbook, among many others.

Listening to varied music has real benefits for children - shaping memory, creativity, spatial intelligence, language, and emotional development - and it happens here in the best way: naturally, on a blanket, with family, while the sun is still up.

2026 Concert Lineup

July 14: Skiffle Minstrels
Join us in kicking off the concert series with the area's best Western Swing dance band. It's fun, upbeat and happy!

July 21: Erie County Wind Ensemble
The BIG sound of this 50 piece band is a Series favorite!

July 28: Buffalo Tango Orkestra
You can definitely expect more than two to tango at this show, led by music director Moshe Shulman!

August 4: American Legion Band of the Tonawandas
We round up the Series with our own area community, symphonic, and parade band! This band is one of the largest in the area.
“The concert series is fabulous! Thank you for putting this awesome community event on each year!”
“The concerts are so much fun, the perfect time and length, and I recommend them to all my friends.”
“We look forward to these shows every year. My daughter always points out the school as the "place with the concerts" when we drive by and has been doing so for over a year. If you made a 3 year old remember, you must be doing something right!”
“The concerts were tremendous fun for my son and me. I think it started and ended at ideal times. We started to recognize fellow regular attendees, and even reconnected with some old friends.”

Franco's pizza: our founding sponsor

Francos Pizza
Franco's Pizza has supported the Children's Concert Series since its very first season. That generosity - sustained year after year - is why the concerts are free to every family who attends. Franco's has been the series' naming sponsor for several years, and KVIS is proud to continue that partnership.

Want to perform at the Concert series?

The musicians chosen to perform the Children’s concerts must provide the materials below to be considered to be included in the series; only those who have previous experience performing for children are considered. We strive to create a balanced series and consider this not just in what we plan annually for each series but what the series previous featured as well.
  1. List of where/who you've performed for in the past including three references; please only include performances for children.
  2. A description of the type of music you perform.
  3. The number of people and instruments in your group.
  4. The cost of a one hour performance.
  5. A link to someplace online where we can see an example of your performance
