Lighting of the Tree and Santa's Arrival
The line at the Village Green grows long on the Saturday after Thanksgiving each year. That’s the day when the Village Christmas/holiday tree is lit and Santa Claus arrives. Since the wind can be brisk and cold then and the wait outdoors fairly long, the Welcoming Committee decided to provide free hot chocolate to everyone waiting. Our hope is that this will be a sweet treat and will help keep everyone warm and cheerful until the festivities begin. If you plan to see Santa please get in line on the Village Green sidewalk near the Delaware Avenue side; you don’t need to lose your place in line because we will bring the hot chocolate to you.
