Building Permanent Roots in the Village of Kenmore

In 2008, a group of neighbors made a choice: to build something intentional in Kenmore. A place where love and kindness weren't just words, but practices. Where people felt they belonged. We created the Kenmore Village Improvement Society to make that real.

​We've kept that promise. Through volunteer dedication and consistent care, we've created spaces where connection happens — concerts where families gather, gardens where neighbors work together, a shop where local artists thrive. And we've expanded our reach across Western New York with initiatives like helpforloneliness.com and savethebeeswny.com, addressing isolation and environmental care for our entire region.

WHY THIS? WHY NOW?

Volunteer hours are precious. Every person who gives their time to KVIS is giving something irreplaceable. We want to honor that gift — by freeing volunteers from the constant work of fundraising, so they can spend their energy doing the work that matters. With an endowment, we ensure that Kenmore's culture of belonging will continue, regardless of year-to-year funding pressures. We aim to raise $100,000 by the end of 2026 to build this permanent foundation.
