a wny tradition returns on september 20, 2026!
Dog Days of Kenmore is back - and we're working to make 2026 our best year yet! Special thanks to Kenmore's very own Laundromutt for coming on board as our naming sponsor! First launched in 2012, Dog Days grew over the next eight years into Western New York's largest outdoor dog event, drawing thousands of dogs and their people to Mang Park each fall. The event paused during the pandemic years, and we are delighted to bring it back - same spirit, same community, same beloved afternoon in the park. Whether you're a dog owner coming for the fun, a pet-industry vendor looking to reach a passionate audience, or a curious neighbor wondering what all the barking is about - we'd love to see you there.
join the paw-ty at Mang park, noon - 4pm
Here's what you can look forward to!
- Over 100 vendors from across the region - pet products, services, treats, accessories, and more
- Area rescue groups sharing their work and introducing adoptable dogs
- Contests and friendly competitions for dogs of every size, style, and personality
- Live music and entertainment throughout the afternoon
- Food trucks for humans (and sometimes the dogs, depending on the vendor)
- Parades, demonstrations, and activities that make an afternoon in the park a real event
vendor applications are now open!

We're proud to keep vendor fees among the most accessible of any regional event of this scale. In 2019, vendor fees ranged from $25–$50; for 2026, fees will be only slightly higher to help cover event costs. There are four vendor categories. Tip: Click on preview form to gather your documents prior to starting your application.

Family-our modern definition
Our definition of family has expanded over the decades. Many households today include dogs, cats, and other animal companions as beloved members of the family - not pets who happen to live in the house, but family in the fullest sense.
This is one of the reasons KVIS plans what we do. Kenmore is a family-friendly place, and we think of "family-friendly" broadly - events like the Children's Concert Series welcome kids and grandparents, and Dog Days welcomes the four-legged family members who come with just as much love.

dog days: a brief history
Dog Days of Kenmore launched in 2012 and grew into Western New York's largest outdoor dog event - with over 100 vendors, most of the region's rescue groups, contests, live music, food trucks, parades, and a lot of extremely happy dogs. The pandemic paused the event in 2020, and we were honestly unsure when to bring it back. After hearing from so many families who missed it, we planned to return in 2025 - but circumstances made that impossible. All of the energy and planning we had ready for 2025 is now going into Dog Days 2026, and we plan to make this one the best yet.
what it's about
Throwing an annual party for dogs and their people is something KVIS is proud to do. We hope the event strengthens the genuine bonds people share with their dogs - and, quietly, helps attendees become more aware of the work that regional rescue groups do on behalf of dogs who need homes. See you in October.
The Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness
Convergent evidence indicates that non-human animals have the neuroanatomical, neurochemical, and neurophysiological substrates of conscious states along with the capacity to exhibit intentional behaviors. Consequently, the weight of evidence indicates that humans are not unique in possessing the neurological substrates that generate consciousness. Non-human animals, including all mammals and birds, and many other creatures, also possess these neurological substrates.

Friends
This is one our favorite photos from Dog Days of Kenmore. Our guest of honor that year was a small dog named Phoenix who had been burned so terribly by a cruel individual. Phoenix had finished having his photo taken with folks who had come to see him while Tank the Town of Tonawanda Canine Officer was taking some shady rest from his demonstrations. Phoenix walked over to Tank who looked at him as if to say "Hey Buddy" then Phoenix sat down next to him as if they had been friends forever. They had never met before. ...How blessed we are to have these canine friends in our lives and how fortunate we are to be able to advocate for them.
